HandyFile

Privacy policy

Last updated 21 August 2026

This policy is short because there is very little to describe. HandyFile is built so that your files stay on your own device, which removes most of what a privacy policy normally has to account for.

Your files

Every tool currently on this site runs entirely inside your browser. When you select a file, it is read by code running on your own computer and never sent to us. We do not receive it, do not store it, and could not produce it if asked.

This is enforced technically rather than by promise. Tool pages are served with a Content Security Policy that restricts where the page may send data, so the page has no ability to upload your file even if its code were changed to try. You can verify this yourself in your browser's developer tools: process a file and watch the network tab stay empty.

If we ever add a tool that genuinely requires a server — some formats cannot be handled in a browser — that tool will say so plainly on its own page, before you use it, and will ask for your explicit consent first. It will never happen silently.

What we do collect

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand which pages are visited. It does not use cookies, does not fingerprint your device, and does not track you across other sites. It records the page address, referrer, approximate country, browser and device type, and page performance timings.

We do not record file names, file contents, file sizes, or anything you type or paste into a tool. That data never leaves your browser, so it is not available to us to collect.

Cookies

We set no cookies. Nothing on this site requires a cookie banner because nothing on this site sets one.

Accounts

There are no accounts. You do not need to register, and we do not ask for an email address. If paid features are added later, this policy will be updated before they launch.

Advertising

We do not currently display advertising. If we do in future, this section will describe exactly which provider is used and what they collect, and advertising will never be placed in a way that interferes with a tool or shifts the page while you are using it.

Server logs

Our host, Cloudflare, keeps standard request logs containing IP addresses and request details, as any web host does. These are used for security and abuse prevention and are retained for a limited period under Cloudflare's own policies.
